    Ensuring safety through comprehensive training and education is vital. A qualified firearms instructor can provide essential guidance in a firearms safety course, helping participants understand the importance of responsible gun handling. Our gun safety courses are designed to prepare individuals for the New York State Pistol Permit, making it easier to navigate the requirements. Additionally, our pistol class offers practical skills and knowledge necessary for safe firearm operation.

    Center State Pistol Training and Education

    We offer comprehensive training that fulfills the requirements for obtaining your New York State Pistol Permit. Our instruction includes both an 18-hour firearms safety course and a specialized 4-hour class for military personnel needing Article 35 to apply for a pistol permit. Our certified firearms instructors are recognized by Madison, Oneida, Cortland, Herkimer, Otsego, and Chenango Counties, ensuring you receive high-quality education in gun safety courses. Course Cost for the 18 hours class is $180 and the 4 hour article 35 class is $50.

    Experienced Instructor

    Center State offers a firearms safety course taught by a certified NRA and New York State DCJS instructor. My journey with firearms began at the age of five, where I learned about gun safety and safe operation from my father and brothers. This early exposure ignited my passion for shooting, which has only grown over the years. Once I was eligible to obtain my New York State Pistol Permit, my enthusiasm for handguns truly began. I am committed to continuous learning, as laws and firearms evolve, and I share this knowledge in my classes, consistently updating the information I provide. With 23 years of law enforcement experience, I became a DCJS firearms instructor in 2010, teaching both law enforcement officers and recruits. Additionally, I was trained as a firearms armorer for my agency, responsible for all issued firearms. In 2024, I recertified as an NRA instructor, further enhancing my qualifications. I have 15 years of experience instructing all levels of shooters in my pistol class.
